Jim Roth was raised in Atlanta. After receiving his bachelor’s degree with honors, he worked for a year in public service. Inspired to serve the interests of the people, he enrolled at the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.
While attending law school, Jim was active in the trial competition team, an organization ranked in the top tier of competitive court programs across the country. He participated in several mock trial competitions and won the Judge James O. Haley trial competition, the most prestigious of its kind in the program.
After graduating with his Juris Doctorate, Jim began his career as an in-house trial attorney for State Farm Insurance. His cases ranged from personal injury automobile accidents to multi-defendant liability litigation cases. Other major insurance carriers with which he has had experience include Allstate, Progressive, GEICO, Zurich, Farmers, and U.S.A.A.
The Roth Firm was opened in September 2006 to focus solely on representing individuals harmed by the negligence of others. Jim has represented clients injured as the result of an automobile, motorcycle, and tractor-trailer accidents, and he has handled complex litigation representing those exposed to unsafe working conditions resulting in catastrophic injury and death.
Jim participates at all levels of local and national bar organizations and other law-related community activities including the Atlanta Bar Association, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Georgia Personal Injury Association. Jim has been consistently named a Super Lawyer in the Georgia Super Lawyers periodical.
In addition to his professional representation, Jim has lectured and presented seminars on complex discovery, witness interviews, case preparation, Ride Share/Uber/Lyft liability, and various other topics.
Jim’s practice focuses on serious automobile, complex trucking, and common carrier accidents, wrongful death, and commercial litigation.
